3 Weeks of Training camp!

The Lord is so faithful! Our first three weeks of training camp have come to an end & it has been such a life changing experience. It seems crazy to think that the moment I had been eagerly anticipating for months has passed & now I’m in the full swing of things! Starting out was nothing like I had expected, but everything I needed. God really can turn mourning into dancing (psalm 30!) & I’m so glad His plans are greater than mine. After arriving at base I came face-to-face with my expectations & had to reevaluate the reason I said yes to missions. It’s not for the pictures, the cool stories, or even the fun friendships (although those are a plus haha) ! I’m here for one reason & that is to serve the Lord. At the start of camp, all I could think about was what I was missing at home & I was rethinking my decision to come here daily. It wasn’t until I realized that I am here to serve God & not myself that I fully started to see the good around me! I get to live in a tent, learn more about God everyday, & devote this year to whatever He has planned for me! There are definitely hard moments & I am being stretched in ways I’ve never been before, but honestly after these three weeks this feels like home. I already know this year will be full of growth & guidance & I’m so excited!!
Our day to day life looks a bit like this… wake up, get ready, & do our devotions @ 8:15, breakfast @ 9, worship & session @ 10-1 (I am learning so much during this time!), lunch is @ 1, after lunch we have free time till our next session @3:30, dinner @ 5, campus cleanup, & then more free time till curfew @ 11!! The days here are packed, but they are starting to fly by! In a week the boys & girls will be splitting up for domestic missions, & the girls are going to Florida for disaster relief! Then we will come back to base for a bit of a debrief & we head out to Cambodia on October 15th!!!
Stay tuned! I am immensely grateful for all the support in prayer & funding <3! Thank you all!

                welcome to the neighborhood!
